A spreadsheet is the complete application or file used to organize and calculate data. A worksheet (or sheet) is a single page inside a spreadsheet workbook where data is entered in rows and columns. A workbook may contain multiple worksheets.
3. What is the default name of the worksheet? How can it be renamed?
The default worksheet name in LibreOffice Calc is Sheet1. To rename it, right-click the sheet tab, select Rename Sheet, type the new name and press Enter or click OK.
4. Write the steps to insert and delete the worksheet in Calc.
To insert a worksheet: Click Sheet → Insert Sheet, choose the position, enter the sheet name and click OK.
To delete a worksheet: Right-click the sheet tab, select Delete Sheet, and confirm the deletion.

1. Describe the process of selecting a range of cells in LibreOffice Calc. How does the ability to select and manipulate cell ranges enhance spreadsheet functionality?
To select a range of cells, click the first cell, hold the left mouse button and drag to the last cell, or click the first cell, hold the Shift key and click the last cell. Selecting ranges allows users to format multiple cells, perform calculations, copy data, apply formulas and create charts efficiently, improving productivity and accuracy.
2. Explain how to handle common errors in LibreOffice Calc calculations.
Common calculation errors can be resolved by checking formulas, verifying cell references, ensuring brackets are correctly placed and confirming that numbers are entered in numeric format. Errors such as #DIV/0! occur when dividing by zero, while #NAME? appears when a function name is misspelled. Reviewing the formula bar helps identify and correct errors.
3. Explain the steps to format a column of dates in a spreadsheet to display in the format dd-mm-yyyy. Why is it useful to customize date formats?
Select the date column, right-click and choose Format Cells. Open the Numbers tab, select Date, choose the format dd-mm-yyyy, and click OK. Customizing date formats improves readability, maintains consistency and ensures that dates are interpreted correctly in reports and records.
4. Explain any four types of charts.
Column Chart: Used to compare values across different categories, such as students' marks.
Pie Chart: Shows how different parts contribute to a whole using percentages.
Line Chart: Displays trends or changes over time, such as monthly sales or temperature.
