Aim

To create an attractive Independence Day poster in Microsoft Word using text formatting, WordArt and pictures.

• Create a new Word document.
• Apply text formatting.
• Insert and edit WordArt.
• Insert and resize images.
• Align objects neatly.
• Save the document correctly.

Software Required

• Microsoft Word
• Windows Computer

Previous Knowledge

• How to open Microsoft Word.
• How to type text.
• How to save a document.

Procedure

1. Open Microsoft Word.
2. Create a Blank Document.
3. Type the title: Happy Independence Day.
4. Select the title and increase the font size to 28–36.
5. Change the font colour.
6. Click Insert → WordArt.
7. Choose a colourful WordArt style.
8. Type: 15 August.
9. Click Insert → Pictures.
10. Insert images such as:
    • Indian National Flag
    • Ashoka Chakra
    • India Gate
    • Children celebrating Independence Day
11. Resize and arrange the images neatly.
12. Insert the slogan: Unity in Diversity.
13. Insert another slogan: Jai Hind!
14. Decorate the page using shapes or borders.
15. Save the file as: Independence_Day_Poster.docx
